IT-Absolute and Onix partnerships
Onix Solutions are unique in its approach to the provision financial market connectivity, trading solutions and FIX enabled software. They are not bound to a single operating system, they are not tied into a single development language or methodology or approach.
Onix provides true solutions tailored to the client. For Onix low latency, high throughput, failover, monitoring, control and ease of use is an absolute necessity, not a selling point. A true solution must work tomorrow and not only at the point of delivery. Thus at Onix they only provide fully supported and maintained software without license fee for it is only the ongoing support of trading applications which has any value.
Onix provides a suite of product libraries which when combined enable full lifecycle trading strategy management over multiple asset classes. Clients select only those components they require or complete packaged trading solutions.
Onix Solutions mitigate the need for modifying implementations when connecting to multiple destinations. Onix provides destination compliant and certified solutions and maintain these for all clients.
FIX Engines and FIX Protocol
All Onix Engines support FIX (4.0 to 5.0). .NET FIX Engine and C++ FIX Engine also support FAST 1.1. This is available as class libraries for the FIX Protocol (FIX Engines). All syntactic, semantic and choreography rules are implemented. These are precise implementations of standards and tools are available for customization within the distribution itself.
Onix Engines also supports an optimization to FIX which a binary compression algorithm is optimized for real-time distribution of high-volume market data. It was developed by FIX Protocol Ltd (FPL) to reduce the bandwidth requirements and the latency of message oriented data feeds. This protocol is rapidly gaining recognition among major exchanges and ECNs (Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), Eurex, the International Securities Exchange (ISE), and Swedens OM Exchanges (OMX), to date).
FAST benefits include reduced bandwidth and reduced latency. They are archived at the expense of increased processing time and more complex processing algorithms. The FAST Protocol uses different approaches to compact data messages such as implicit, tagging, field encoding, presence map, stop bit and binary encoding.
All Onix Engines support multiple exchanges, ECN and broker implementations out of the box. All are immediately compliant and are pre-certified.
